3. Why we use personal information
We process personal information to:
-
respond to enquiries and provide quotations, consultations, jewellery design, manufacturing, remodelling, repair, sales, delivery and support;

4. Voluntary and required information
Providing personal information is generally voluntary. Fields marked as required, and information reasonably needed for an enquiry, quotation, booking, order, payment or delivery, are required for us to provide that service. If you do not provide it, we may be unable to respond, quote, book, contract with you or fulfil an order. Some records must be collected or retained by law.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies support the operation and security of the website. Analytics, functional and advertising technologies are used only after a visitor makes a choice through our cookie banner where consent is required. You can deny non-essential technologies or change your choice through the site’s privacy settings. Browser settings may also block cookies, but this can affect website functions.
6. Who may receive your information
We do not sell personal information. We may share only what is reasonably necessary with:
-
Wix.com Ltd, its affiliates and authorised service providers that support hosting, forms, customer management, stores, bookings, chat, analytics and security;
-
payment processors, banks, couriers and delivery providers;
-
professional advisers, accountants and information-technology providers; and
-

Service providers process information under appropriate duties of confidentiality and data protection.
7. International transfers
Wix and some service providers may process information outside South Africa, including in Israel, the United States, Ireland and other locations where their providers operate. We make international transfers only where permitted by section 72 of POPIA, including through adequate protection, binding agreements or contractual safeguards, consent, or where a transfer is necessary for a contract.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, our contractual and warranty obligations, dispute resolution, security, and applicable tax, accounting or other legal requirements. We then delete, destroy or de-identify it unless continued retention is required or permitted by law. Marketing information is used until you opt out or withdraw consent; we may retain a record of your choice for compliance.
9. Security and data incidents
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved, including access controls, secure connections and the security controls provided by our platform and service providers. No system is completely secure. If a security compromise occurs, we will investigate and notify the Information Regulator and affected persons where POPIA requires it.
10. Your rights
Subject to POPIA and other applicable law, you may:
-
ask whether we hold your personal information and request access to it;

-
object to particular processing on reasonable grounds;
-
withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;
-
opt out of direct marketing at any time, without charge; and
-
lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
To exercise a right, email info@goldsmiths.co.za. We may need to verify your identity. Some requests are subject to lawful exceptions, including records we must retain.
